Spriza’s motto, as you may (or may not) know is “Win. Laugh. Live”. In a previous post I chatted about winning, but now I want to talk about laughing.
I find reading the definition of words really powerful…
laugh verb (used without object)
- to express mirth, pleasure, derision, or nervousness with an audible, vocal expulsion of air from the lungs that can range from a loud burst of sound to a series of quiet chuckles and is usually accompanied by characteristic facial and bodily movements*
How fun does that sound? Laughter is such an unusual thing when you think about it. How we express our happiness, our joy, our nervousness. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who doesn’t like to laugh! If you have, I’d like to meet them! ...On second thought, I don’t.
Laughter is a universal language! No matter your culture or the language you speak, when someone laughs, joy is expressed. It’s contagious! Here’s an article on Laughter by Dr. Mercola, which addresses 10 fascinating facts about laugher.
You know the saying, laughter is the best medicine. Well I’d have to agree that it helps! And there’s plenty of science to back up the health benefits of laughter. Some of these benefits, as outlined by helpguide.org, include:
